#271: The Guns of Navarone

Old men are tasked with a mission that much younger men should have been ordered to do, but that’s okay because movies are supposed to be fun – and this movie has fun licked. It’s a war flick that plays more like an adventure flick with a couple of moral dilemmas thrown in that were to serve as a criticism of war, but ended up making this one of the most beloved war movies of the era. On the one hand an epic failure, on the other, a massive success.
